Nicky started dancing from a very early age and it became clear very quickly that she was born to dance.
By the age of 13 Nicky had been North West ballroom and Latin champion 5 times and principle dancer in various pantomimes at the Grand Theatre Blackpool. Upon leaving school Nicky was awarded a scholarship to attend Merseyside dance and drama centre where not only did she gain her teaching diploma in istd but was also the head girl.

Straight from college Nicky's career as a performer began and it has taken her all over the world and spans 24 years. Nicky has been lucky enough to perform in many fantastic shows both in theaters and cruise ships and has worked with many famous faces along the way including Robert De Niro, Bradley Walsh, Joe Longthorne, Freddie Starr, Cannon and Ball, Billy Pearce, Barbera Windsor and the very fabulous Will i am where Nicky danced with him on the advert for "The Voice".
For 9 years of Nicky's career she danced in the world renowned show "Spirit Of The Dance" performing in various countries and to which she became the lead dancer and company manager. At age 30 Nicky decided it was time to open her own school and pass her experience and ability on to others and this is when Centre Stage Academy was born. In the 11 years that Nicky has been the principle of the school her pupils have performed in many shows per year ranging from her own productions to professional pantomimes etc.

Centre Stage Academy enters pupils into istd exams in Tap, Ballet, Modern every year and continues to hold a 100% pass rate. I am very proud that my school is one of few that teaches Tap, Ballet, Modern, Irish, Street, Tumbling, Contemporary, Ballroom, Latin, Singing and Drama to all ages from 3 years to adults. At Centre Stage Academy pupils can expect to be taught at a very high standard from all teachers whilst having the opportunity to perform in fabulous shows and obtain qualifications. Miss Nicky's pupils have the opportunity to dance in various theaters both in and out of Blackpool including the biggest one of all... the Opera House in the Winter Gardens. Not only does Nicky dance but she also gained a part in the TV series "Hollyoaks" where she played the part of "Sarah" the receptionist in a shop. Recently, Nicky decided to write and produce her own pantomime which some of her pupils performed in to huge success. Centre Stage Academy enters pupils into istd exams in Tap, Ballet and Modern every year and still holds a 100% pass rate!
Just 2 years ago Nicky was lucky enough to be given the job of Choreographer for Preston Guild Hall pantomime working with the very funny Phil Walker. In 2015 Nicky choreographed Sleeping Beauty. In 2016 Jack and the Beanstalk which had outstanding reviews. Nicky has been resigned to choreograph 2017 and 2018 productions.
I have now been teaching ballet at Nicky Figgins Centre Stage Academy for nearly two years and thoroughly enjoy working with the students. Seeing the improvement, the dedication and passion each week really makes my job one of the best in the world!
